Brrr….it’s finally getting cold out! Whether you’re sitting by the fireplace enjoying the view of fresh fallen snow or just feeling a slight chill on the West Coast, we’re all getting into the winter spirit. Let’s have some fun and channel this splendid time of year with some inspiring winter-ready hair accessories.
The Beret

Though I’m convinced I personally can’t pull it off, I’m a huge fun of a lovely winter beret. It’s classic, sassy and one of those looks that makes you look effortlessly stylish. From chunky-knit berets to those that sparkle with pretty sequins, there are plenty of these hats to try. For the daytime, pick a wool or knit beret that you can wear with a down hairstyle. Hint: this is one of those life savers that’s great for hiding dirty, second-day hair!

Wanting to dress up the beret for a bit of evening glam? Look for a faux fur, sequined or embellished beret. That’s right, studs, flowers and some pretty artistic touches are just some of the fun frills you’ll see on this dressed-up hair accessory. Again, the beret looks best when worn with a down hairstyle but for evening, try curling your hair underneath for a nice wave.
The Beanie

Forget what you think you know about beanies, this season’s beanie is downright chic! What used to be known as the snowboarder’s hat of choice is now a favorite of style bloggers and fashionistas everywhere. Try an oversized beanie for that slouchy look or reach for a chunky knit beanie for cozy winter style.

The bowler hat is a winter classic. It’s easy to pull off and can be styled a number of ways! Try the bowler hat with a low side ponytail, fun braids or a down hairstyle. This winter, you’ll find faux furs, patterns and plenty of interesting textures and colors to pick from.

Looking for a little something to add to your holiday hairstyle? The jeweled hair pin is exactly what you need. These aren’t the traditional hair pins you’ve seen for bridal hair accessories; we’re talking subtle embellishments, pretty flowers, metallics and even latex hairbands, too. Jeweled hair pins were seen all over the fall runways at shows like Rodarte; style them in your favorite half up half down hairstyle, in a down hairstyle or even hidden in a ponytail.
